The Helena Jolly Education Fund
Press Release Date: Feb-21-2009
"Jonathan Jolly, 41, of Winston-Salem passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 14, 2008
at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Jon was born in Florida on July 23, 1967
to Arliss and Peggy Jolly. He grew up with a fierce love of nature and animals,
especially big dogs. Jon’s natural athletic ability helped him master extreme
sports, such as snow skiing and paddling. Jon studied at Appalachian University
and while in school became an instructor at Ski Beech. As an instructor
for more than 20 years, Jon’s enthusiasm for skiing helped many novice students
come to love the sport as much as he did. In 1995 Jon realized a life-long dream
in opening the Hanging Rock Outdoor Center in Stokes County."
On February 21st, 2009 Ski Beech will be honoring the life of Jon Jolly.
On this day we will be raising money to contribute to Jon's daughter,
The Helena Jolly educational fund. We will have a cookout at 11:30am
on the View Haus deck. We will be collecting donations for the fund.
We will have live music in the View Haus for lunch, and face painting
for kids. Dane Garvik with the clothing company 970 will emcee the event on the
View Haus deck. Dane will Dj, and raffle off several items including a
season pass for the Winter 09'10' ski season (a $500.00 value). We will
also take up donations that night at the Beech Tree while Lost Cauz
is playing. The raffle will be held that night.
