Beech Mountain Adaptive Snowsports Center (BASC)

Our program is one of the furthest south adaptive programs that reaches out to hundreds of people each year. Our program is volunteer based and teaches kids and adults with disabilities how to ski and snowboard with the right skills applied depending on the disability. Our goal is to give everyone regardless of ability the opportunity to do and reach beyond their goals and dreams without any limitations. Beech Mountain has been a host site to adaptive sports for nearly 30 years. The resort continues to host an incredible 4-day "Adaptive Learn to Ski and Race Clinic" sponsored by the Disabled Sports USA and the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center. The interest of participants continues to grow so BASC will be adding several events to their calendar. This will allow our lessons to learn from others, make new friends, and share their experiences with fellow students. Also in order to expand the growth and interest of the program we have partnered with Carolina Adaptive Sports, a non-profit disabled sports organization creating year round events, opportunities, programs, and funding for people with disabilities. Together our goal is to allow more participants to partake, offer scholarships, and offer events throughout the year.
